We have rescued and adopted over 320 dogs to families in 2011!!!
Our Featured Pet...
We strongly believe in rescuing shelter pets and therefore most, if not all of our rescues come from high kill shelters. We depend on foster homes for help saving these precious, loving dogs and are always in need of more foster homes, as there are never enough for the amount of dogs in the shelter. A foster home is a temporary place for one of these dogs to feel safe and loved and be cared for until we are able to find them a forever home. Sometimes this may be a couple days or a couple weeks, just depends on the dog and finding a family. If you can help in anyway please email us at savingpawsofwa@gmail.com. If you wish to help by placing a donation to help with vetcare, food, toys, bedding, crates, gas/transportations costs to shelters or donate to help lower the adoption fee of a particular dog feel free to use our donation button below. If you would like it donated towards a specific cause or dog please let us know and we would be glad to do so. We operate solely off of donations and the adoption fees help pay for some of the dogs care, but we do have dogs that are either in boarding or need spendy surgeries/medical care that we could not otherwise afford.
Who We Are
Our mission is to rescue as many dogs that are scheduled for euthanasia as possible. We rescue dogs from high kill shelters, where they are at risk for being euthanized, plainly due to lack of space and good homes. There are just not enough homes for them where they are and most are just great dogs that just ended up in the wrong situation through no fault of their own.
All dogs are temperament tested and most have some degree of training as well. Most are great with kids, dogs and most of the time cats. We work on crate training with the dogs, so most are able to transition easier into their new homes. Before going to a forever home all dogs are updated on shots, wormings and spayed/neutered (if age appropriate, otherwise a certificate is provided) before they go home, as well as microchipped.
Adopting a friend
We are a volunteer based organization. All of our dogs are in foster care awaiting forever homes or in boarding if no foster is available. If you are interested in a dog on our site - please send and email and we will get back to you as soon as possible with an adoption application.
A good home is the most important for our rescues and that starts with a good match between owner and their new companion. We review applications and try our best to get back to applicants within 24 hours. Sometimes it may take up to 48 hours if it is a time where we are getting quite a bit of emails in, but we try to answer as quickly as possible.
