We are trying to set up a network of foster homes. Anyone interested please email or call. You can be a vital part of this rescue by offering up a small amount of space to a cat in need. Each foster home frees up a space at the main shelter for a new cat to come in and be rehabilitated. We are also looking for volunteers to spend time with the cats and help groom, clean etc.
Who We Are
SPHR takes in stray cats, owner surrenders and shelter kitties in need and cares for them until they find the perfect home. All cats are vet checked and healthy (unless otherwise stated). We strive to place animals in a home where they will be loved and cared for forever. Our commitment to each animal does not end when you walk out the door. A representative is available to help out in any way possible, and always willing to give advice on all things cat related. We want each adoption to be a great match, but if this turns out to not be true, the animal can (and must) return to us. We are a small rescue, and care deeply for each and every kitty that comes through the rescue. We of course want them to be happy, but want their new family to be as well, so you do not have to worry about getting a cat with unknown issues. We get to know each animal that is in our care, and have had great success pairing people with their new (animal) family members. Please call or email if you would like to give a wonderful rescue kitty a chance at a new and happy life. If you are interested in finding a Persian, Himalayan, or Exotic Shorthair (or other purebred) please email to inquire even if we do not have exactly what you are looking for. Many cats do not make it on the web, as we have pre-approved adopters on a waiting list. If you fill out an application to join the list, I will contact you when I have a cat that would be a good fit for your household.
Adopting a friend
If you have questions about an available cat, please try contacting via email first, as this is the most efficent way I have of getting back to people. If you would like to be considered for an adoption, please send an email requesting an application. You must fill out an application in order to be approved as an adopter. Once I have reviewed the application you can schedule a visit. There is an adoption fee for all cats and a home check required in some instances. I do my best to get back to people as quickly as possible, but please be patient :)
**Please do not inquire about a cat unless you are a serious adopter. This is a volunteer run organization that people give up a lot of personal time to run. If you are looking for a purebred kitten, you have come to the wrong place. Purebred kittens RARELY come into rescue.**
