Figaro and Studmuffin

These sweet cats were saved from
euthanasia last spring by Animal
Talk when they were about five
weeks old. They have been
diagnosed with an autoimmune
disease, which requires
extraction of some of their teeth, accompanied by a heavy
course of antibiotics and medication.
We are accepting donations to help
pay for the treatment they need.

...Who We Are

Welcome to the Animal Talk Rescue Web page. We are a 501.C3 Non Profit "no-kill" rescue shelter. We are sponsored by Animal Talk, a friendly neighborhood petshop between Wallingford and the University district neighborhoods in Seattle, Washington.

Animal Talk opened its doors 19 years ago, and the non profit rescue was developed after kittens were being left on the doorstep. While our rescue focus has been primarily with cats and kittens, rescue of any abused, abandoned or neglected companion animals is undertaken provided there is space available.
All of our pets are spayed or neutered before they are placed in homes. There is much information available today that shows that early spay and neutering is preferable to waiting until the cat is old enough to have babies of its own. Here are a few links for you to read if you have concerns. If you have any doubts about how important it is to keep your cat indoors, we'd like you to visit the Northwest Coyote Tracker website. Coyotes live in Seattle. And they like to eat cats.

All of our kittens that are neutered are watched round the clock by staff and foster parents to ensure their health and comfort in recovery from surgery. .

We would like to thank our new sponsors,

Clearwire is providing the rescue with internet, free of charge! Thanks to the mobility that Clearwire provides, we can have an internet connection at any offsite adoption event. This allows adopters to view, via petfinder, the other pets we have at our shelter location.

Mention Animal Talk Rescue when you sign up for a Clearwire internet account, and the rescue will receive a $25 donation! write to Christopher Randall for more information

Our Wish List

If you can't adopt today, but would like to help, please check our wish list. There are many inexpensive items that we could really use!

Alley Cat Allies

Alley Cat Allies are the foremost experts on feral cats. They promote non-lethal control for feral and stray cats with trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs that effectively reduce their population by sterilization - not euthanasia.! This website full of great information for everyone interested in these cats.

We all make mistakes, but don't "litter!"

How we screen your new pet

All kittens and cats are screened for feline leukemia and other health problems upon arrival. Then they start a quarantine for at least 7 days. During first vaccines, worming, a fungal and flea bath, Frontline flea treatment, Avid microchip and any other medical treatment necessary. The Adoption center closes 1/2 hour before the close of the pet shop each day.
