Featured Pet- How can you Pick just one?
With so many special dogs comming in and finding forever homes each day I dont know how we could pick just one. All of our dogs are equally deserving and need a home. Some are a little harder to find the right one, but we know its out there. If you are looking to fill your heart with the love of a dog who is desperate for a forever home, a family to love, and someone to cuddle with please contact us. We would love to help.
Who we are-
We are a small group of volunteers who have devoted our time, and opened our homes to pets with a special need. Because we pride our selves on bigger dogs we have had to make sure that our homes are prepared to take in these big dogs with big hearts. Often we get breeds who are mis understood and take alot of time, training, and care to get to the point where they are ready to go to a new home. We are fortunate enough to have some very wonderful people working with us. We couldn't do it with out them. We are lucky to have volunteers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Arizona, Texas, Wyoming, Illinios, Ohio, Utah, Colorado and many more!
What we do-
Our mission is to help place big dogs in need of a place to go. We believe that education is the key to any successful ownership. And that the only way to keep so many dogs out of rescue is to help educate people before they are tempted by that puppy in the window. Because of this we also offer special training classes that work with mastiff breeds as well. We will help put you in contact with someone that can help. We believe that some times the best dogs come in big packages. They take special owners who can live with an animal the same size as most people.
Breeds we work with-
At RPMR we will work with any breed or mix breed that needs a place to go. We do not limit ourselves to mastiffs, and bully breeds. Although they are the preference. We do however have experience with most mastiff breeds. Including English Mastiff, American Mastiff, Tosa Inu, Spanish Mastiffs, Neopolitan, Cane Corso ( Italian Mastiff), Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff), Dogo, Presa, and many more. We belive that they all need a second chance. If you are looking for help or to adopt and dont know if we have a dog in your area, please contact us, we stay in contact with other rescues who may be of better service.
Adoption Process-
We do require an application to be filled out before we can approve you for any adoptive animal that we have on our site. To get that application all you have to do is email us and we will send it to you via email. It can also be sent via postal mail but it does take a considerable amount longer.
Interested in Helping-
If you are interested in helping out by either becoming a foster home, or just spending time with some of the rescues who need a little one on one time, just let us know. We would be more then happy to see what we can do to help. Some times there is nothing more rewarding then taking a dog who had nothing and finding him the perfect forever home.
Surrender-
If you are looking to surrender your mastiff, or other large breed and are needing our help please let us know. We do have to meet the dog, and get an idea of his personality before we can see what we can do the best to help. This is often due to the special needs of many mastiffs and to make sure that we can take them in and place them in a foster home where they will strive. The worst thing we could do is set them up for failure when the odds are already against them. We do require a surrender fee in order to help us cover cost of the dogs shots, and alter. Please let us know if you need any help.
Education-
If you are ever in need of help or don't know where to turn please let us know. We will do everything that we can in order to get you the advice that you need. We have many contacts via vets, trainers, other rescues, ect that will be able to asist you. Many of our vollunteers have driven as many as 30 hrs away just to help a dog in need. We are blessed to have a truly devoited team of vollunteers. Remember- A well behaved dog is a pleasure to be around. With training many dogs wont end up in the shelters, or rescues.
