If you have lost a pet in Whitman County, please contact the Whitman County Humane Society pet shelter at 509 332-3422. To report a stray in the city of Pullman, please call the Pullman Police Department at 509 334-0802.
All lost and found pets from Latah County should be reported to the Humane Society of the Palouse located in Moscow, Idaho. Their phone number is 208 883-1166.

Dogs over 4 months of age are $75 and puppies 4 months and under are $90.
Cats over 4 months of age are $65 and kittens 4 months of age and under are $80.
Sales tax applies to adoption fees.

Fees Include: Spay/neutering prior to adoption, feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency testing (cats), worming, and initial vaccinations. Dogs and cats over 16 weeks of age are vaccinated against rabies.
To promote humane treatment, spay and neutering, and responsible care of animals through public education and training programs. To provide a humane shelter environment and care for stray, abandoned, abused or neglected animals in Whitman County. To provide adoption services of companion animals to the public.
Whitman County Humane Society, Inc. has an early spay and neuter program, whereby all healthy animals who are over two pounds in weight and over eight weeks of age will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Click here to learn more.

The Whitman County Humane Society publishes a newsletter full of information on veterinary care and health tips, adoption success stories, and other community service programs available from WCHS. We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with animal care and other shelter duties. You must apply and attend orientation prior to volunteering. Visit our website for more details.
The Whitman County Humane Society pet shelter currently needs certain pet foods and animal care items. We need dry puppy, dog, kitten, and cat food and we ALWAYS need kitty litter! You can make a donation by dropping off items at the shelter on NW 635 Guy Street in Pullman. We appreciate your support.
The shelter is closed 8:30 am - 1 pm for cleaning, animal care and medication, and animal training purposes.
The shelter is open 1-5:30 pm Monday through Saturday. The shelter is currently closed on Sundays.
The shelter is closed New Year's Day, Easter, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
