Our kittens up for adoption have all been Spayed/Neutered, Fiv/FeLv tested, wormed and vaccinated. Our adoption fee of $40.00 goes towards covering the cost of these procedures. The average price in the area for a cat spay alone is $100.00.
We desperatly need homes for these sweeties to make room for others that are in need.
Thank you to all those who have cared enough to rescue those that are lost and alone.

Who We Are
D.S.C.O. was originaly started as a ferret rescue. Currently, the closest ferret rescue is more than 100 miles from us. Due to local need, we have decided to aid in the placement of other animals as well. We are a very small, privately opperated, home based shelter with limited resources. Because of this, we are unable to take in large dogs at this time.
Please understand, we are not a pet store. We are not interested in "Making a buck" . We are interested in finding the best environment for the pet. In light of that, we will do a compatability screening either over the phone or in person. We may also ask for a letter of refference from your veterinarian.
We limit our adoptions to those who we feel can best care for the needs of each individual animal.
Space at D.S.C.O. is limited so foster homes may be needed at times. Anyone who would be interested in providing foster care, please contact us. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Adopting a friend
At DSCO we believe strongly in matching our pets personalities with the best forever home for them. This helps with bonding and lessens pet returns. Please e-mail or call for a Pet profile questionaire.
Kitten season is upon us and once again we will have lots of little ones to find homes for. Due to the age of some of our kittens, they may not be spayed or neutered. In that case, adoption fees will be $15.00. These kittens will still be tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids (Felv/FIV), dewormed at least once and given their first vaccination for Distemper/Upper Respitory Disease (FRCCP). The adoption fee for nutered males / spayed females is $40.00 This fee includes spaying/neutering, deworming, Felv/Fiv testing and at least one FRCCP vaccination. All other pets will have adoption fees posted with their description.
