Our mission is to “inspire a community where people value animals”. Our vision is to create a place where all dogs and cats have a loving home in which to live out their natural lives. We share a vision of a better future where animals play the unique role in making the world a better place for people. The Everett Shelter has been working diligently for the past two years to lower its euthanasia rate of adoptable animals, but they can’t do it alone. In the past three years they have built up a rescue network of over 100 rescues to help alleviate the over crowding. In 2005 the shelter started a Foster Program to help place animals who need time to heal or more time to find a home.
We want to help stop the euthanasia of adoptable animals who have easily treatable ailments and are facing death because there is no money in the budget. This is just one of the amazing projects ARF is working on right now. With you as a partner, we are and can do it.
Recently a beautiful chocolate lab called Cocoa came into the shelter. This dog has a truly loving, kind spirit. The staff noticed he had a slight limp and a veterinarian exam showed that Cocoa needed a new hinge in his back leg that would cost $1200 in surgery. Because the Shelter was unable to pay for the surgery, Cocoa's fate it seemed was euthanasia.
ARF, Animal Rescue Foundation, and the Cocoa's Fund was created in time to supply the additional medical care for him plus many other rescued animals at the Everett Animal Shelter with similar needs. Cocoa is now recovering nicely and will become the mascot for all the animals that deserve a second chance at life with a loving family.
Animals facing thousands of dollars in surgery are not adoptable, and most rescue organizations are not capable of taking on such a financial risk. We are actively seeking donations to fund Cocoa’s surgery and to continue to help deserving animals like Cocoa have a second chance.
You can learn more about who we are and what we do for the animals at WWW.EverettARF.org
Because our animals are in a foster home network, you can visit with any of the animals on our site by calling 425-257-6011 or email us at fostereas@gmail.com and arrange a meeting. All our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered and micro chipped.
