Spay Day $20$10!

Spay Day 2010

South County Cats has received grants from both the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies and the Dugan Foundation to spay/neuter 129 cats for Spay Day 2010. This program is for ALL cat owners in south King County. We have partnered with several local veterinarians for this special promotion. Female cats are $20 (co-pay) and male cats are $10 (co-pay).

There is a limit of 2 cats per household. Kittens must be five months or older and female cats must not be in heat or pregnant (please visit http://www.feralcatproject.org for information on low-cost spay/neuter for these cats).

If you are interested in this program, please email southcountycats@comcast.net for more information. The program runs February 1 through March 31, 2010

Help us publicize Spay Day $20$10!

Download the Spay Day $20$10 flyer to post at local businesses, bulletin boards, etc. There are three flyers per page, so even printing one page can help get the word out to many. Those with websites and blogs can help by using our Spay Day $20$10 button to create a link back to this page. Thank you!

For those outside south King County, there are several public low-cost spay/neuter clinics serving the greater Seattle area:

  • Coalition Humane (http://coalitionhumane.org/html/spay_services.htm) in North Tacoma, near the Tacoma Dome - Male cats are $35, female cats are $45. They also offer low cost spay/neuter for dogs.
  • Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project (http://www.feralcatproject.org) in Lynnwood by Alderwood Mall - Spay/neuter is free for feral and free-roaming cats that will be eartipped, companion cats that will not be eartipped are $15 male, $25 female. Vaccinations are $5.
  • Seattle/King County Humane Society (http://www.seattlehumane.org/services/services/spay-neuter) offers free spay surgeries for any female cat, dog and rabbit who is brought to the shelter with a litter. The animal will be returned to the owner, and the kittens, puppies or bunnies will be placed for adoption.
