To get started, e-mail us for an adoption application. Please print and completely fill out both pages of the application. Then mail, fax or deliver it to us. Please note that due to limited staffing and the volume of response we sometimes get, we may not reply personally to each applicant. The animal you are interested in may or may not still be available. We'll try to let you know by e-mail, but please recheck this web page to see the status of our animals. We update this page frequently.
Only applicants who have been approved, following our initial application screening, will receive further e-mail or telephone communication from us. Your application has to be approved to continue the adoption process.
If you are contacted, we ask that you come to our shelter to visit the animal of your choice. This will allow you to choose the right pet for your family. All animals are spayed/neutered before being placed into their new home. Adopters outside of Kittitas County should be prepared to travel to Ellensburg twice to complete their new pet adoption.
We encourage you to bring your other animals and all family members to meet your new friend. Not sure who is right for you? Make a list of all the traits you want and don't want in a pet, and shelter staff will help you find a compatible match!
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot ship our animals, and no exceptions can be made to the above adoption procedures.
