Hours
Shelter (Adoptions & Stray Reclamation): Seven days a week, 12 noon - 6 pm.

Administration: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Spay\Neuter Clinic: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Appointment required.

Pet Licensing: Seven days a week, 9 am - 6 pm.

Field Services: Seven days a week, 7 am - 8 pm.

Adoption Policies
All adoptions require a written application and an interview with an adoption counselor.

Description
Seattle Animal Shelter provides field services to residents of Seattle, including neighborhood dispute mediation, nuisance animals, vicious animals/dog bites, and animal cruelty investigation. Seattle Animal Shelter handles approximately 8000 animals every year. Shelter staff assist owners locating their lost pets as well as helping adopters pick appropriate new pets. The agency also runs a municipal spay\neuter clinic that is open to the public.

Fees
Adoption Fees

The adoption fee is $50 - $125 for all cats and dogs. All animals adopted from SAS are licensed, vaccinated, wormed, spayed or neutered, and implanted with a microchip identifier. Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia. The adoption fee is $5 for all "Critters". A certificate for a free health exam at virtually any local veterinary hospital donated by Seattle-King County Veterinary Medical Association.
