Who We Are:

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group of 100% volunteers dedicated to rescuing & rehoming ferrets around the Pacific Northwest.

News & Events:

Submissions Wanted: Have a story idea for our newsletter? A product you can't live without? Cute pictures you'd love to show off? Send them in! We're now accepting articles for the next edition of our newsletter!

Volunteers Needed: Are you 18 years or older with your own transportation & a love for animals? If so, we have the volunteer job for you! Sign up to volunteer and we'll get right back to you!

Our Featured Fuzzbutts:

Gus is a 1.5 year old handsome sable boy & Princess is a 2.5 year old little sable girl. They will need to go to a new home where they can remain together. Princess will not accept any ferrets pals other than Gus. They are such sweet, darling fuzzies and we would love to see them find a new home soon. This duo's adoption fee is $175 and you can come meet them during our hours every Saturday from 11am-4pm.

Adopting a Friend:

The Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter has many ferrets available for adoption. Most of our ferrets are healthy, lovable, easy-going pets that would be great for a first-time ferret owner. Some of the fuzzies are sick or have behavioral problems and are only suitable for placement with experienced ferret owners. Whatever your needs, our Adoption Advisors will be happy to help you find the ideal match!

There is an adoption fee for each ferret : $100 for one ferret and $75 for each additional. The fee is used to help pay for some of the Shelter's operating expenses. Supplies and equipment adds up quickly, especially since many of the Shelter's inhabitants and all fosters are are elderly or chronically ill. There are 100+ in house ferrets, as well as 100+ placed in foster homes!

If things don't work out for you and your ferret, the shelter will always take the ferret back, regardless of the circumstances. The adoption fee is refundable up to 7 days.

We do ask that prospective adopters fill out an Adoption Application & our Adoption Contract when adopting ferrets from us.

All ferrets have been microchipped, vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Rabies and are spayed/neutered and descented. They have also been treated for fleas, earmites, have had their teeth inspected and cleaned.

Need more info? Please see our About Ferrets page & and print out our Ferret Care Brochure. If you have any questions, we are here to help, so please feel free to call us or send us an email anytime!
