Who We Are:

We are a non-profit group dedicated to rescuing & rehoming ferrets around the Pacific Northwest.

News & Events:

Submissions Wanted: Have a story idea for our newsletter? A product you can't live without? Cute pictures you'd love to show off? Send them in! We're now accepting articles for the next edition of our newsletter!

Volunteers Needed: Are you 16 years or older with your own transportation & a love for animals? If so, we have the volunteer job for you! We have the immediate need for substitute weekday cleaners and can always use help on Saturdays speaking to the public about the pros/cons of owning a ferret. Sign up to volunteer and we'll get right back to you!

Our Featured Fuzzbutts:

Rosie is a 4.5 year old albino girl & Violet is a 5 year old silver female. They will need to go to a new home where they can remain together. They are such sweet, darling girls and we would love to see them find a new home soon. This duo's adoption fee is $175 and you can come meet them during our hours every Saturday from 10am-4pm.

Adopting a Friend:

The Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter has many ferrets available for adoption. Most of our ferrets are healthy, lovable, easy-going pets that would be great for a first-time ferret owner. Some of the fuzzies are sick or have behavioral problems and are only suitable for placement with experienced ferret owners. Whatever your needs, our Adoption Advisors will be happy to help you find the ideal match!

There is an adoption fee for each ferret which ranges from $100 for one ferret to $150 for two. The fee is used to help pay for some of the Shelter's operating expenses. Supplies and equipment for 70+ ferrets adds up quickly, especially since many of the Shelter's inhabitants are elderly or chronically ill.

If things don't work out for you and your ferret, the shelter will always take the ferret back, regardless of the circumstances. The adoption fee is refundable up to 7 days.

We do ask that prospective adopters fill out an Adoption Application & our Adoption Contract when adopting ferrets from us.

All ferrets have been vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Rabies and are spayed/neutered and descented (the latter is unless otherwise indicated). They have also been treated for fleas, earmites, have had their teeth inspected and cleaned where necessary and have been bathed if needed.

Need more info? Please see our About Ferrets page & and print out our Ferret Care Brochure. Need a cage? We can help with that too! If you have any questions, we are here to help, so please feel free to call us or send us an email anytime!
