Dog of the Month...

Spring!
Spring is a sweet, well mannered, playful and affectionate 6-8 month old cattle dog mix. She has been brought current on her shots, including rabies and will be spayed around June 21, 2007. She gets along well with other dogs, does okay with cats and just loves people of all ages. She was found out in the country near Adams County running up and down the road when a family rescued Spring. She is working on house training and loves to sleep with you. If you would like to give Spring a warm, loving and forever home, please e-mail us for an adoption application. Spring's adoption fee is $125.00.

Columbia Basin Animal Rescue has been moving into its first full-time facility over the last two weeks. The new address is 220 E. Columbia Drive in Kennewick, WA 99336. We are currently under remodel, so adoptions are by appointment only. We want to thank everyone who has helped with this adventure. We are still in need of some supplies and equipment to get the office up and running. If you would like to help us get moved and set-up please contact Brandy at 509-396-3794.

Columbia Basin Animal Rescue & Protection Agency wants to thank you for a very successful third year. We have accomplished more than we had expected to during our first three years. This past year was a wonderful year. We are enthusiastically looking forward to our fourth year and what we can accomplish. We found homes for nearly 400 animals in 2006, including the 35 dogs and puppies transported to us from Camp Katrina. We are looking forward to many more happy endings in 2007. As of the end of June, 225 cats and dogs have found their forever homes!!! Thanks to everyone who has adopted one of our animal in 2007!!! Our Spay/Neuter Transport is helping many families in our area with lower cost spay and neuters. We have helped spay and neuter close to 750 animals this past year (including CBARPAS pets). Thank you to everyone who chose to adopt.

Spay & Neuter Transport

We are taking appointments for our next spay/neuter run to a lower cost spay/neuter clinic. You can view our schedule by clicking on the "Event Calendar" link. We have dates scheduled throughout the next 3 months. Cats and Kittens can be spayed/neutered as early as 2lbs. Puppies can be spayed/neutered at 8-12 weeks of age. The recovery process for these young animals is amazing. They often show no signs of having just underwent surgery. Their recovery time is almost instant. Male kittens and puppies often do not even require any stitches. Please contact Brandy for dates and appointments available. If you have a pet who needs to be altered, but is unable to afford it in the Tri-City area, please give Brandy a call at 509-396-2794 and she will take your name and animal's information to get you on our next transport run.

Foster homes are desperately needed throughout our community and the nation. Fostering a homeless animal brings such joy to ones life. Rescued animals definitely show their gratitude and it really warms the heart having a foster animal in your home. If you would like to learn more about what fostering entails, please contact us either by phone or e-mail. We would love to share some of our heart warming experiences.
