Second Chance Ranch is a non-profit, tax exempt (501c3) sport horse rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary. We specialize in off the track race horses, dressage, hunter/jumper and eventers.

Adoption fees for horses are based on fair market value and vary on breed, age, condition and training.

Our primary mission at Second Chance Ranch is to match people to horses. Rescue horses are carefully evaluated, fully vetted and recieve excellent training. We also have horses on consignment, who are not rescues.
Adoption Process is as follows:
The first step is to fill out and email an adoption application. A representative from SCR will contact you to discuss the horse you are interested in. From there we will arrange for you to meet the horse and finally, a SCR representative will visit and approve of where the horse will be living. Our goal is to match the horse’s needs and capabilities with the rider’s. Potential adopters should spend time working with the horse at our barn before making a decision, or at least have several rides with them. Adoption contracts are customized for each horse, according to it’s needs, and states that if you no longer want the horse then it must be returned to SCR.
