The Humane Society for Seattle/King County, founded in 1897, saves more animals’ lives, places more companion animals in homes and performs more spay and neuter surgeries than any private nonprofit serving Seattle/King County.

Our Adoption Center is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and all major holidays.
The adoption process takes approximately an hour to complete and longer on weekends or when the Adoption Center is very busy. Adoption paperwork must be completed and turned in to the Adoption Desk at least one hour prior to closing. Animals may be viewed up until closing time.
Spay/Neuter Clinic:
Enables low-income pet owners to alter their pets at a discount.

Offers people and pets workshops, dog training and campus tours.
Pet Food Bank:

Provides supplemental pet food to pets of low-income senior pet owners.
Pet Project:

Provides pet food, litter, grooming services, and veterinary care to pets of low-income individuals disabled with AIDS.
