Sitka is a 7 year old NM Husky that does very well with kids of all ages. No Cats or other farm animals for him though. A dog to dog introduction needs to be done prior to any finalized adoption as Sitka is particular on his new playmates of the 4 legged variety.

Who We Are
V.S.H.A.N.B.R. Is a small group of people concerned with the welfare of the Siberian husky and Northern Breed dogs, in and around New England. We are based in beautiful, rural Orange County Vermont. All of our volunteers have day jobs, as well as our own dogs, and cats and various other critters running around our lives. We have no shelter to house the dogs/puppies in our program, but rely on our foster parents to care for them as their own. An appointment will be needed to view any animals up for adoption. Please remember that any phone numbers listed are to our own private homes, we ask that calls be made after 9AM and before 8PM on any given day. Adopting a friend
Adoption Requirements:
A few of the requirements for adopting a dog from us:
You MUST be at least 21 with either your own home or written (and verifiable by phone and in writing) landlord permission.
We WILL conduct a home check, where we will wish to meet all members of the family. (both 2 legged and 4 legged)
We prefer you to have a minimum 4 foot high fence around the doggie play area of no smaller than 400 square feet .
We INSIST all current pets to be up to date on all vaccinations and altered.
Please have a through understanding of Northern Breed's before contacting us.
Incomplete and improperly filled out applications will not be processed.
When sending an e-mail request for an application, please include the first and last names of every adult in the home, your mailing address as well as a contact phone number and best time to call.
Phone calls that do not include your first and last name, town you live in and phone number with area code - will not be returned.
You must be pre-approved prior to meeting any of our rescue dogs/puppies.
Come Visit Us!
We are not a shelter, we do not have a facility for you to visit, all of our available dogs/puppies are in our volunteer foster homes, you must be pre-approved to schedule a meeting.
