Spot!
Now in VT!!
Spot is now in Vermont!!
'Spot' is such a common name, one often over used without any real identifying characteristics or images. Is there really anything left to the imagination when we hear the word or name, SPOT?
Many of you will recall our SPOT.
Our beautiful 2-3 year old black Labrador Spot who in terror and in fear ran off one freezing sunny winter day.
That chase lasted 6 nights and 7 days and although Spot was spied almost every day by at least one person if not many he was elusive to track next to impossible to catch. We had sub zero temperatures snow days. Two trackers from up North and dozens and dozens of kind and generous souls who came and walked in search of Spot.
And then we got him and he could stop running. He slept in the arms of our volunteer. He was fine, just exhausted and starving.
He ran because just didn't understand.
An owner turn in Spot was so lost as to where his family was. Where were his people? What were these new smells and sounds? Nothing here in VT was familiar.
Since that December week Spot has been resting comfortably. We know he needs a slow transition.
But he is ready and is wondering if there is any patient souls out there that would consider him as possibly being their new companion.
He would benefit from allot of one on one. People who have time someone who truly understands the acclimating that goes along with a dog that has suddenly lost his littermates and family over night.
Beautiful gentle tender...there is nothing common about our Spot

Who We Are
Welcome to Golden Huggs Rescue!
We are a very small group of volunteers who have made it our mission to find loving suitable homes for (otherwise) displaced, abandoned, or stray golden retrievers, golden mixes and labrador retrievers.
The dogs have either been relinquished by their owners, found as strays, or abandoned at the shelter door. It is irrelevant to us how they have managed to find themselves at these kill shelters in these circumstances. It is only in their best interest that we try in earnest to get them out.
All of our volunteers have been involved in the rescue and placing of dogs for years. All of our volunteers have worked with reputable rescues in the past. We are committed to doing our part in decreasing the numbers of goldens, golden mixes and labs put down at southern shelters.
Golden Huggs has recieved its 501c3 non-profit status. We receive no funding at all. All of our expenses are paid out of pocket. We would gladly accept any and all donations and contributions.
