Our Pet List
WE ALWAYS HAVE PUGS AVAILABLE
We specialize in saving the puppy mill pugs- so many of those here will be ones
straight from the puppy mills in Ohio and Missouri. We get the calls to rescue
them and pay for their rabies shots and health certificates and then move them
to our vet to be fully vetted prior to coming out east to our rescue.
Please visit to our website and look at available pugs to see what we have for
pugs. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING A PUG- PLS GO TO OUR WEBSITE (gmpr.org)
AND APPLY IF YOU LIVE WITHIN OUR ADOPTION AREA. Our adoption area is all over
New Hampshire, Vermont and Northeast New York from Albany northeast.
We have a HUGE STORE FRONT with lots of items for pug lovers everywhere. Take a
look at our website to see these beautiful items.
gmpr.org New things coming out
all the time so keep looking:)
Thanks for your continued support. We will have many events in 2009 to help with
fundraising. Look at the events page on our website at
gmpr.org Hope to see you all
there! Our pug social will be held on September 26th 2009 in gorgeous Stowe, VT.
We ARE a LEGIT 501c3 organization. Please remember this when donating to
rescues- make sure they are legit:). If donating to a true non profit is
important- ask for a copy of their 501c3 papers:) Only donations through 501c3
are tax deductible.
Adopting a friend
We always have pugs available and coming in so many from shelters, owner
surrenders, puppy mill releases, etc. Pls take a look at
gmpr.org . If interested in a
pug go to our website at gmpr.org
and fill out an adoption application. You will then be called by a gmpr
volunteer to schedule a home visit with everyone in the household. Location:--
We do not have a Shelter location to visit. We have a network of foster homes.
We do have a web page and email address so that more people can see the pictures
and read the stories about our current Rescues who are still looking for their
perfect home. All of us have full-time jobs and families in addition to the
Rescue work that we do. Please know that we will respond as soon as possible. An
adoption always begins with a completed application, so you can help us by doing
that first. If the dogs show in our pet list they are still available.
This
is a picture of my beloved Cosmo a special needs puppy that came to us
with megaesophagus disease and I nursed him to great health and put
weight on him and enabled him to move to Mass for adoption to a
special family there. It was a labor of love for sure with him and
Fiona his sister that also had this problem. They are both being
altered and getting ready for adoption. I miss them but we did save
them!:) Karen Powers, founder gmpr

Rescued Hearts
By Kathleen Parsons
Taking care of rescue dogs
Is something I do best.
I know because I've done it,
And I've surely passed the test.
The dogs I've bathed, the food I've fed,
The vacuuming I've done,
And all to watch a frightened soul
Sit dreaming in the sun.
My own dogs I've neglected,
But I tell them everyday
That I love and cherish each of them
Though a new dog's come to stay
I know they understand this,
For in their eyes I see
The love that I have given them
Come shining back at me.
Some people think I'm crazy,
Some others think I'm great.
But very few can understand
What really is at stake.
If I can love and help a dog
To find a better way,
My own life is much richer,
I look forward to each day.
So now you know my secret,
It's there for all to see,
The love I give, the life I save,
I do it all for me.
