Vermont Dog and Rabbit Resources is a small group that fosters rabbits and dogs. The rabbits that come into our program are generally from shelters. We do not take from private homes. Rabbits can be high maintenance animals and live for 10-15years.
We mainly act as a resource for shelters and the general public and limit foster animals. Please feel free to contact us if looking for a rabbit or need information on caring for your pet or problem solving your rabbits behavior!
Our dogs come mostly from shelters in New England that for one reason or another need to move a dog into a home foster situation. Adoption fee's are 325-400. Dogs are altered/heartworm tested/fully vaccinated, dewormed, and started on heartworm medication. Vet records accompany the dog to their new home. Our dogs are all seen locally by a vet prior to adoption.
Who We Are
We are a small group dedicated to educating the public about keeping rabbits as indoor pets. We also assist other rescue groups and shelters in the placement of our canine friends!
Adopting a friend
Please email for an adoption application. Once that is filled out and returned we will contact you for a phone interview. This will allow you to ask questions about the animal, and for us to set up a time to come visit you to see if the pet your applying for will be a good match for you. We often bring a dog with us to the home visit.
