RABBITS Sadly we cannot foster any rabbits at this time. Due to the increasing costs to spay/neuter we are no long taking rabbits in for placement. We will however post them for you if they are spayed/neutered and work along with you to get your rabbit into a new loving home. We will also provide you with information caring for your house rabbit and problem solve behavioral skills. The Vet that we most often refer to is MILTON VET CLINIC- DR. PAULA GAMACHE 802-893-4000 they are very savvy with rabbit care and surgeries We also recommend this clinic for our bully breeds!!!!!!

Who We Are

Vermont Dog and Rabbit Resources is a small group that fosters Dogs and provides information and resources for Rabbits. The dogs we foster are from the following groups which are either 501c3 or 501c7 groups. AMERICAN BULLMASTIFF RESCUE ASSOCIATION AND LONG ISLAND BULLDOG RESCUE. This site/page is designed to let people and shelters know that there is a local area small group of foster homes that will help place/rehab bully breeds, and occasionally bulldog/mastiff mixed breeds. If you have a bully breed you need to place feel free to contact us and we can work with you to find a foster home, or if you are looking for a bulldog or bullmastiff we also can see if one of our bully breeds will fit into your home. Adoption fee's are not set by our group they are set by group we are fostering for and the fee's vary for each group. If we have a dog that is a mixed bully breed that falls outside of these groups we ask that you cover the vet fee's We are no longer placing dogs outside of the bully breeds. Our dogs are either with Long Island Bulldog Rescue or American bullmastiff All dogs posted outside of the bully breed are courtesy listed and fully vetted before going into a new home! IF you are seeking a specific breed we would be happy to talk to you about reputable rescue groups in the area. When considering a new dog for your family, please make sure that the rescue group KNOWS the dog well, that they physically have the dog and have had the dog in a foster home for at least 2-3 weeks, rescue groups that adopt dogs out two days after they arrive cannot truly know and understand the dog and his needs, faults, likes, dislikes. Dogs under stress will act differently in a new environment and they need time to settle in and relax in order for their true nature to show, Go and meet the dog, spend time with him or her and take a little time to think about it before rushing to a decision. This is a very long commitment and both you and your dog need to be happy. If you have a boxer please seek out NEW ENGLAND BOXER RESCUE for assistance, or contact us and we can reach out for you. If you have a Pug, please go to GREEN MOUNTAIN PUG RESCUE .. both are exceptionally amazing rescue groups! Random Rescue in Williamstown VT has a variety of dogs up for adoption and they are thoughtful, caring and reputable rescue group. If you have a dog that you need help placing that is a mix breed we can post them for you and work on getting them fully vetted prior to placing them.. If you are another rescue group seeking help with a home visit, reference checks, or following up with a placed dog and are within a 30mile radius of Burlington VT, please do not hesitate to ask for help. Adopting a friend

Please email for an adoption application. Once that is filled out and returned we will contact you for a phone interview. This will allow you to ask questions about the animal, and for us to set up a time to come visit you to see if the pet your applying for will be a good match for you. We often bring a dog with us to the home visit. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT TO ANYONE UNDER 25 OR IF THERE ARE UNALTERED DOGS/CATS in the house!

Come Visit Us!

If you would like to come visit us please email for a time. We are a foster home based rescue and visits are by appointment only.
