ADOPTING A FRIEND

The shelter is open to the public to browse and see if any animals are of interest to you. We encourage everyone to spend as much time with any animal they are interested in. All of our animals are available for the public to look at. If you are interested in adopting an animal, we have an application that needs to be filled out. If approved, you may take the pet home if it is ready or pre-adopt if it is not. Pre-adoption is for animals not yet ready to go, but you are allowed to adopt and take home when they are ready. The shelter also has many options for volunteering at the shelter. Volunteers are allowed to come and socialize cats & dogs, walk dogs or just help out around the shelter. We value all types of volunteering. Volunteers are welcome from 10:00 till 30 minutes before closing. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, stop in at the shelter.

The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday and Friday 12:00 to 4:00, Wednesday and Thursday 12:00 to 7:00, and Saturday 11:00 to 4:00. The shelter is closed on Sunday and Monday.

We are located on Route 7 South in Middlebury, VT.

Coming from the North, Boardman Street is located 1/4 mile past the McDonalds light. Take a left onto Boardmans Street just past the guardrails and before G. Stone Motors. Go 1/4 mile up Boardman Sreet. We are just above Desabrais Glass on the right.

Coming from the south, Boardman Street is located 1/8 mile past Rosie's Restaurant on the right. Take a right onto Boardman Street at the end of G. Stone Motors. Go 1/4 mile up Boardman Sreet. We are just above Desabrais Glass on the right.
