Rikki's Refuge holds adoptions at the refuge by appointment. The best times to come are on the weekends, but we do our best to work around your schedule. Weekday appointments are available, we just have to be sure we know when you are coming so we're not running off to vet appointments or other errands.
We are about 45 minutes away from the Fredericksburg PetsMart, and about the same distance away from the heart of Charlottesville. We have directions posted on our main website (www.rikkisrefuge.org).
Tours of the refuge occur monthly, usually on the first Saturday of each month. Space is limited on our tours and RSVPs are required.
Volunteers are welcome to attend work parties that occur at Rikki's each weekend, rain or shine. Projects are listed on our posted calendar but may be changed on short notice.
People interested in meeting our animals at the refuge are welcome, but you will need to schedule an appointment ahead of time so that we can be sure a caretaker or seasoned volunteer will be available to help you.
