Who We Are

Founded in 1892, the Norfolk Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals stands as one of the country's oldest shelters for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated animals. The Norfolk SPCA receives no federal, state or local government funding and relies on many volunteers, community support, private donations and fundraisers to provide food, shelter, medical care and love to thousands of animals brought to us annually.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic

The Norfolk SPCA offers low-cost vaccinations (walk-in, M-F 9am-2pm and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm), flea and heartworm prevention, spay/neuter surgeries, medical exams and many other veterinary services through our two veterinary clinics and are available to the public with no income requirements, limits or restrictions. After You Adopt Every animal adopted by the Norfolk SPCA leaves our shelter spayed or neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on it's shots, but we want you to be protected against high Veterinary bills should your new pet develop an unexpected health problem. You can alleviate the financial stress associated with your pet’s unexpected medical expenses and generate funds for our shelter at the same time! Simply apply for a ShelterCare Pet Insurance Program by using the ShelterCare banner-link. Here’s how it works: ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care from an illness or injury.
