These nice dogs have been patiently waiting at the county pound for a family of their own. ADOPT ONE OF THESE SWEETHEARTS TODAY! They are altered, current on shots and heartworm tested. These nice dogs have been temperment tested and are ready for a family to love. There are many SOCIAL, HEALTHY ADOPTABLE DOGS looking for love at the Hanover County Pound. The pound has lots of different types of dogs in all colors and ages for adoption. The adoption fee is only $40 and that includes the mandatory spay/neuter cost and first set of shots which are given by the county. Please visit the pound soon and adopt a doggie friend or two!

Who We Are

The Hanover County Pound Facility offers dogs, cats and other animals for adoption. Only Hanover County residents or adjoining County residents are able to adopt non-sterilized animals. By state law, anyone who adopts a dog or cat must have their new pet sterilized. Any Virginia citizen may adopt animals that have already been sterilized. All forms needed to verify sterilization are available at the Animal Control Facility. From the North take Interstate 95 to Exit 92 for Ashland/Hanover. Make a left turn onto Rt. 54 East. From the South take Interstate 95 to Exit 92A for Hanover. Go approx. 1 1/2 miles and make a right onto the Taylor Complex Road. The Hanover County Pound is the 3rd building on the right, just past the dog park.
