Commonwealth Cat Rescue, Inc. was formed in the Spring of 2006 to support local animal shelters and assist other resuce groups in our community. We are a recognized 501(c)(3) charity so your donations are deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Who We Are
We are an all volunteer group with no permanent shelter facility. Rather, we rely on foster homes to care for our cats and kittens prior to adoption. Our focus is on:
Rescue. Commonwealth Cat Rescue takes in abandoned cats and kittens from local animal shelters and supports other community rescue groups. Our rescues are provided shelter, food and care until permanent homes can be found.
Rehabilitation. The cats and kittens we take in are evaluated regarding their health, temperament, and other characteristics to determine their suitability for placement into an adoptive home. Based upon this assessment, the cats and kittens we rescue are provided with appropriate care and medical treatment to prepare them for a permanent home.
Re-homing. Our adoption program has the goal of finding a lifetime home for our rescues. Adopters are provided with support and advice before and after taking our cats and kittens into their homes.
