**TRANSPORT SERVICES AVAILABLE** Begins With Love is now offering free transport services to VA rescues. If a dog needs to be taken to his new home or taken to a shelter/foster rescue then we are here to see that it happens. We know that driving can sometimes be a pain and we want to help cut down the obstacles in adoption. Since we are such a small rescue with little finances we want to help the area in other ways. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any transporting help.
New Doggies In Need
Who We Are
Begins With Love is a not for profit, foster based, all breed dog rescue. We are small rescue, (run by my husband and myself) but we have the time to dedicate ourselves to the dogs that need 3rd and 4th chances. Either we foster the dogs ourselves, or close friends and family do. As of right now, we currently only have one foster home. It is urgent that we have more people apply for foster homes so we can give our pups a good foundation. We want all our pups to go to safe, loving homes so that we can continue to help more pups out there.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption policy is as follows: We require a home check prior to placing the dog. We DO adopt out of the area but we still will require a home check. We have seperate applications for pit bulls or "hard to handle" dogs. All dogs require a $100 adoption fee that includes spaying/nuetering, HW preventative, and vaccines. Right now we are just starting work on our website, so please email us for an application. Once the application has been looked over and we decide you and the dog could be a good match, we will set up a home check (either myself or a volunteer will conduct it). If your home check goes well, then we will set up a meeting with you and the dog (the closer you live the quicker the process is). It will either be at your house or the foster home. If after that you decide the dog is for you then we'll have you fill out the adoption contract and you will have a new family member!
Adoption procedure at adoption events
You can go about it 2 ways. Either fill out an online application and send it in before or fill out an appication at the event. After you have met the dog you are interested in and handed in the application then we will set up a home visit. Begins With Love must complete a home inspection to ensure that the prospective adopter can provide a safe, nurturing family for the new pet. After that we will set up a placement time where we will bring you the dog and you will sign the adoption contract and we'll collect the adoption fee. Finally, we shake your hand, give you your new baby, and say thank you so so much for helping save a homless pup!!
Have a dog in need of a home?
We can help with that too. If you are able to foster the dog or keep it until it finds a home, we can post his picture and profile on the web. He can also attend adoption events! Whether you need to find a home for your dog or you found a dog in need, let us know and we will get him on our site ASAP!
Come Visit Us!
The only visits we schedule are home checks and meetings with the dog you are interested in (see above). We don't have a facility to visit but if you are interested in a dog then we can maybe set something up with the foster family.
