Who We Are
FerretsFirst is a no-kill shelter and rescue located in Northern Virginia. Our goal is to provide homeless ferrets with a warm, loving environment and medical care while nurturing their individual needs and personalities until a permanent home can be found. The shelter relies on donations, adoption fees and major support from the director, to operate financially.
Adopting a friend
To adopt a friend, please go to the FerretsFirst website, www.ferretsfirst.org, and complete an application. After I review the document I will call you to discuss your application and interests. An appointment to meet the ferrets will be set up and the decisions concerning adoption(s) will be made.
Adoptions are not guaranteed. These ferrets have already lost one home and family. Those considering adoption must be ready to provide a forever home, appropriate housing, a ferret safe environment, adequate exercise, quality food, attention, yearly vet visits, medical care as needed and have the finances available to do so.
Please allow a few days for a response to any inquiry or application.

FerretsFirst is a home-based shelter and that makes normal living a little chaotic at times. For that reason all shelter visits are by appointment only.
