Who We Are
Our organization consists of all volunteers, working out of their homes. We are a "No Kill" non-profit organization, 501(c) dedicated to rescuing animals from suffering, cruelty, abandonment, and neglect. We advocate the philosophy that "kindness uplifts the world".
Our mission is to find loving and responisble homes for unwanted animals, promote and assist with spaying and neuturing, and provide temporary homes for abandoned cats & dogs.
Adopting a friend
To adopt one of our animals, please contact the volunteer who is listed with that animal. An adoption application must be filled out. This allows us to determine if this animal will be a great fit for both of you. We know all our animals on a one on one basis and like to see them go into homes where they will receive the care and the affection they need. Once approved, a formal contract is filled out and signed. The adoption fee is collected and any medical records are released to you.
Once an Animal is Adopted
Paws and Whiskers... to the best of our knowledge... make sure animals are as healthy as possible, at the time of adoption. Some pre-existing conditons may not be detectable in early stages, and might exist and manifest at a later date. Paws and Whiskers will not be held responsible for any conditions for which we have no control over, which may develop after, said animals are adopted. Nor can Paws and Whiskers be held responsible for any future expenses which might result from such cases. We are doing everything we possibly can to rescue some of these animals from extreme cases of neglect and sometimes abuse...or abandonment...so please bear with us if they are not completely "perfect"... We are in essence trying to give most a second, sometimes third or fourth chance at a better life...that is what rescue work is all about.
Our policy for pets that do not work out
If the adopter decides that the animal is not working out, or decides they cannot keep the animal; the animal must be turned back over to Paws and Whiskers Animal Rescue, Inc. We will then endeavor to try and find them a new home. Please do NOT pass these animals on to someone else or take them to a shelter...bring them back to us. We follow up on any of our furry friends we adopt out and like to keep track of them. We are also required to keep track of any animals that are adopted out through our efforts...Thank You.
