The CASPCA - Manassas is the adoption venue for the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.
We bring dogs from our facility to Northern Virginia for adoption every Saturday at the Bristow Petsmart on Route 28 in Manassas. In addition, we bring cats, kittens and dogs to Wylie Wagg in Fairfax in the Grande Commons shopping center every second Saturday of the month from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. We recommend filling out an application in advance so we can find a good match for you and bring the pets you are interested in to these adoption events. If you see a cat or dog you are interested in meeting, please fill out an application at www.caspca.org (indicate the pets you are interested in) and we will contact you immediately.
The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides a safe environment for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Charlottesville and Albemarle County and places them in good homes. We strive to set a standard of excellence and leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs.
Our SPCA has saved approximately 90 percent of all dogs and cats, better than any other community in the nation. We are an open-admission facility, meaning we take in all strays, owner surrenders and animals brought to us by animal control officers. We take in over 5,000 animals each year.
Saving lives is not an easy task. Every month during the summer, the CASPCA receives approximately 400 cats and kittens each month. In addition, throughout the year, we take in approximately 180 dogs each month. We operate a veterinarian clinic where we can medically treat our animals and spay and neuter these pets prior to adoption. We have made a committment to our supporters -- that we guarantee every healthy, friendly pet a new home. But more importantly, we are committed to our animals. We promise them that we will make our community the safest place to be a homeless pet.
