All persons interested in adopting an animal must come to the shelter to meet the animal and fill out an adoption application. Out of area adoptions require spay/neuter before animal leaves the Augusta County area. (Any animal going to a home not in Augusta County or a county that borders Augusta County, must be spayed or neutered at one of our local vet offices prior to new owner getting ownership of the animal.) We welcome adopters from outside our area. For potential adopters beyond Augusta County AND ADJACENT COUNTIES, please call the shelter prior to coming to look at our animals. CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS APPLY to adopters in this category.
