Up Coming Events:

October 18, 2014. We will be hosting our annual rabies clinic / open house. This year we are planning a larger open house because it is our 10 year anniversary for having our new building open. The Rabies clinic will be held in the garage of the shelter. Dogs must be on leash and cats in a carrier. $10.00 shot per animal. If you bring your current, un-expired rabies certificate, you can get a 3 year shot. As far as the open house.... there will be free BBQ lunch, pony rides, professional pet / owner pictures being taken. we are also asking past adopters to bring their dogs they have adopted from us to play games and events. (a little show and tell) and much, much more.

Adoption Fees:

Effective Immediately: All adoption fees have increased to $25.00 for all animals adopted from our shelter.

We only except CHECKS or MONEY ORDERS for shelter fees. Cash is accepted for donation.

Animals at our shelter that are under 4 months of age CAN NOT be adopted over one and a half hours away. Those animals will be required to be brought back at the age of 6 months to be altered at OUR VET and this is becoming to be a problem.

Adopted animals old enough to be altered CAN NOT go home until they have been altered. The animals will be altered at the earliest convenience, after completion of the adoption contract. The Clarke County Humane foundation will pay 0% to 100% of this expense depending on where the adopter lives. The adopter will have to pay the remaining cost of the spay / neuter bill at the time of adoption. The adopter will have to make arrangements to pick their new pet up from our vet (Roseville vet in Boyce VA) after it has been spayed / neutered. Adopted pets are NOT allowed to be gifts for another person or given away to another person / party.
