Jack Russells are first and foremost hunting dogs. They were bred to follow their quarry (fox, groundhog, badger) into their lair and bark until their opponent either bolted the den or the terrierman dug down to retrieve the animal. They are highly energetic, are bred to bark and may not make the best pet for apartment living as a result.

Who We Are

Russell Rescue Inc is a 501c3 organization. All donations are tax deductible. We assist in placing homeless or unwanted JRT's in appropriate "forever" homes.

Adopting a friend

All potential adopters must completely fill out and return our adoption form (including references).
An adoption fee is required which supports the rescue efforts, medical needs of foster terriers, and so forth. Not all applicants will be found appropriate for the Jack Russell Terrier.
You are urged to read our Bad Dog Talk before applying to adopt a terrier to be sure the Jack Russell is the dog for you.

All dogs are in foster care!

YOU MUST COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND A RESCUE REPRESENTATIVE WILL CONTACT YOU.

Incomplete applications will not be processed. Not all applications will be found appropriate for the Jack Russell. All rescue workers are volunteers and must fit rescue work into their work/family schedules. Be patient while we process your application. Thank you.
