Rachel is a sweetheart in a basset body with husky coloring! Picked up as a stray by the local animal control, she spent approx. three weeks with them before coming to us. Extremely sweet and loving and very quiet, though too strong for young children, Rachel needs to be an only pet. Born approx. November 1998, she is a "short" 64 lbs.
We have several different styles and sizes available. All are clean and in very good condition. Prices vary by size and condition, but all of them are very affordable! Proceeds benefit our group. Call us today for more information!
Second Chance Animal Shelter is a small, non-profit(501C3), non-euthanizing animal rescue group. We take in adoptable cats and dogs, give them complete medical care and keep them until they are adopted.
All of our animals go to the vet as soon as they come to us. They are given a complete exam, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered.
We are very small and are not always available, so we work BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. All of our available animals are online. If you see someone you like, just give us a call at (804) 598-2100. A representative can give you more information about us and the animal.
The adoption fees include all medical work done on the animal, including vaccinations, examination, spay/neuter, de-worming, FIV/FeLV testing (all cats are negative), heartworm test (for dogs only, also includes treatment if dog is positive), flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention (dogs only). If the animal is still a baby, then the fee covers any remaining baby shots and their spay or neuter. Our animals are also eligible for ShelterCare Pet Insurance courtesy of Petfinder.
We are listed with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Therefore, donations are tax deductible. We also aprticipate in the Ukrop's Golden Gift/Benevolink program. Donations and/or inquiries may be mailed to the shelter at: P.O. Box 55, Powhatan, VA 23139. We thank you for your support.
If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (804) 598-2100.
