Our Pet List

Pet of the Month

Our pet of the month introduces himself. ..

My name is Boots and I need a speical loving and caring home. I have some problems with my teeth and am now on some medicine that will hopefully correct the problem. If nowt Hopewell has made arrangements for my back teeth to be pulled--my front teeth are okay. Hey, and I am still a young fun loving "man of the road." My teeth are bad because of poor diet.

was not properly taken care of when I was small and then I was dumped and no one cared! I was found and wrapped in a box with very few air holes, box taped shut, and left outside in the rain and cold weather.

Hopewell Humane saved me from sure suffering and death! They have nursed me back to health (and are working on the teeth problem) and had me neutered. I am up to date on all shots; am wormed and flea treated reguarly, and have tested negative for feline aids and leukemia.p>

Before we found out the problem with my teeth, I had found a home; however, after my owners found out that there was a problem they no longer wanted me. They brought me back (thankfully) to Hopewell Humane.

If you think you would like to adopt me or help sponsor me with my medical bills (which so far, even without the removal of the teeth, are very high, you can call the shelter at 804-458-7303 or volunteer Carol at 804-458-373. If you would like to sponsor me or make a donation to help with medical bills, you may make a check payable (tax-deductable) to Hopewell Humane Society, and mail it to P O Box 562, Hopewell, VA 23860.

.Please! come see me. . . and all my buddies here at Hopewell Humane Society.

Hopewell Humane Society is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers. We help abandoned and unwanted animals. HHS receives no tax funds; however, the local United Way does support our efforts.

NEW BUILDING. After many, many years, we have been able to purchase a new building. In December of 2006 we purchased the old Tri-City Animal Clinic on Oaklawn Boulevard and physically moved in March/April of 2007.

Hopewell Humane is now in the process of trying to renovate the building to better meet the needs of our furry friends. We are writing grants and trying to raise funds. We are a work in progress.

Barn Cat(s) URGENT

PLEASE HELP! Do you have a barn? Do you need a barn cat? We have some cats that would be great for a barn cat. We need someone who may have a farm that would be willing to feed, water, and take care of some cats that are not people oriented. They needs homes -- and would do well as farm/barn cats. Cats would be spayed/neutered and immunized, of course. If you or anyone you know may be interested, please contact us!

Volunteering and Donations

Do you have time? and want to spend time with some loving animals? We can ALWAYS use volunteers at the shelter to play with and socialize the animals. We can also use help with transportation of the cats to and from local vets as well as have a desperate need for people to help us transporting cats to PETsMART on Midlothian Turnpike for adoption.

We are at PETsMART on Car Mia Way (near ChesterTown Center in Midlothian) every Saturday from 11:30 until 3:00. We need people in to be at PS during those hours to help adopt out these adorable cats and kittens. Please contact the shelter (804) 458-3734 for more information and come visit us on Saturdays

We have volunteer forms at PS and you may also call us at 804-458-7303. Please come in and talk to us. We need your support.

Come see us on Saturdays at Adoption Days at PETsMART on Midlothian Trunpike and talk to some of our volunteers. See all the animals we have for adoption. We have cats and kittens. Cats and Kittens stay all week and are available for adoption.
