The Roanoke Valley SPCA Adoption & Education Center is the leading advocate for animal adoption in the Roanoke area.
As a limited admission-no kill facility, we work closely with rescue groups, other adoption facilities and the local pound. Many adoptable animals are waiting at the Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) until space becomes available at the Adoption & Education Center. The animals are held as long as space allows, but it is crucial that homes be found in order to save these pets. If homes can be found for any of these animals, they would be transferred to the RVSPCA to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. The Roanoke Valley SPCA is located at 1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA. Open to the public at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday thru Sunday. The shelter is closed on Monday.

Volunteering and Donations
Volunteering for the RVSPCA is addictive. The only way to understand the feeling of satisfaction one gets from helping the homeless animals is to experience it first hand. The RVSPCA offers a comprehensive volunteer program which provides many different opportunities to choose from based on your individual interests, talents, and time commitment. The RVSPCA relies solely on the generosity of the community and receives no governmental funding to cover the cost of caring for thousands of homeless and unwanted animals throughout the year. Donations are appreciated!

Directions: East from Roanoke Civic Center on Orange Avenue. Right at 13th Street. Follow road along Tinker Creek, take a sharp turn to the left. The shelter is located at the top of the hill.
