Who We Are
CAWS is a no-kill animal welfare and rescue organization specializing in feral (wild) cat colony management and the adoption of homeless pets. Feral cats are trapped, spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returned to the colony. This method of colony control is more effective and humane than euthanasia at decreasing cat numbers, nuisance, disease and suffering. Our adoption program pairs abandoned dogs and cats with new loving families. Rescued animals come primarily from municipal animal shelters and live in volunteer foster homes until they are found permanent homes. Since its inception CAWS has saved thousands of animals in need, finding loving homes for hundreds of animals annually.
You can donate now to the CAWS animals through this
secure link. Help provide spays/neuters, veterinary care, and foster care that these dogs and cats would otherwise not receive. CAWS is a volunteer-based organization, spending less than 4% on general expenses. Also, due to this AOL Foundation link, your donation by Visa or MasterCard, except the usual credit card fee (typically under 2%), will go directly to helping animals, without any portion deducted for commissions for this service. CAWS' low overhead and the AOL Foundation together mean your donation will make a real and lasting difference for animals. They thank you for helping!
Interested in Adopting?
If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email email@example.com or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.
Also, on the 3rd & 4th Sat & Sun of every month we'll be at the South Salt Lake PetSmart at 1830 South 300 West from 11 - 4. We'll be showing many of the wonderful animals we have available for adoption! Please be sure to stop by!
CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!
