Prior to Adoption Event
We are showing our fur balls prior to the adoption event with an appointment and a approved application. If you would like to adopt one of our fur babies prior to the adoption event plesase fill out an application and email it back to us here. They are located on the front page of our website. www.lostpaws.org. Once we have it in hand we will review it and set up a time to see if the adoption is a match. We will show them Monday-Wednesday on the weeks of the adoption events.
At the Adoption Event
Adoption applications will be filled out at Petsmart during the first 15mins or you can request one sent via email to bring with you that day.
At 15 minutes after the hour (please don't be late.) the
applications will be picked up and then the decisions
will be made after that. This is to accommodate
those looking for highly adoptable animals. All are
welcome to come any time between the adoption times on
adoptions days. Many factors go into determining
which applicant will be matched with a particular
animal. If you are not chosen for this pet, it does
not mean that you are not considered a good pet owner
or that your home is not acceptable. Our goal is to
place this animal in the home that will best suit its
needs. To pay, please go back up by the Luv-A-Pet
Center (cat house) and pay at the adoption table. You
are now set to take home your new best friend and
family companion! We sincerely appreciate your
interest and willingness to give these abandoned
animals a safe, secure, loving environment where they
reciprocate, in ways that only an animal can, to make
our lives more complete and meaningful. We also do out
of state adoptions if needed. Please contact us for
information. Our adoption donations are usually $85 for adult cats and $100 for kittens, dogs are $200 at the adoption events at Petsmart. unless other wise marked in pets bio. LOST PAWS, INC. WILL NO LONGER EXCEPT CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS AT THE ADOPTION EVENTS. ONLY PAPER CASH.
SORRY FOR ANY TROUBLE THIS MAY CAUSE. To many bounced checks.
"OUT OF STATE ADOPTION? Yes, we do them!
Thank you for inquiring about adopting out of state. Here are our requirements and why we do it this way.
1. We do NOT ship the dogs in the cargo section of the plane. We do mildly sedate the dogs for their comfort and relaxation and want to be able to monitor them during the flight. Because of this polices we require that you purchase a plane ticket for the dog ($50) and for an adoption specialist. We do take great care in trying to keep the cost down. Right now we have been using Delta and can get on their weekend flight for about $200 round trip from Utah to east coast and $118 from Utah to the west coast.
2. If it is needed we require that you also purchase a 1 night hotel stay for the adoption specialist. We try to send adoption specialists who have family or friends in the area so they don't need a hotel.
3. The adoption paperwork, adoption donation and transportation are to be taken care of before date of travel.
4. All pets that travel on the planes must have a full health exam no earlier than 10 days prior to departure. LOST PAWS, Inc. will provide the proper documentation that is needed to travel and a carrier for the trip.
Please understand that these little critters have become family and we take great pride in finding the best form of transportation for them. If you have an excellent home to offer and you understand what we do and why we much be so careful, and if you are committed to the process, we will make every effort to work with you. If you agree to these terms, please fill out or adoption application and email it back to us.
Again thanks for thinking about our dogs.
Lost PAWS, Inc. has had many successful placements in the U.S. Some of our dogs have relocated to California, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, Washington, New Mexico, New York, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, West Virginia, Texas, New Jersey, and now North Carolina.
Need to surrender your pet?
You have a choice when it comes to surrendering your pets. They can either go to your local shelter where they can euthanized the minute you walk out the door, or turn them over to a rescue group like us who will protect your pet for the rest of it's life. We are always willing to take in cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Even though we say we are a small breed rescue that is not true. We take in anything if we have room. With some of the larger breeds we may need a day or two to find a foster home.
PLACING A CAT OR KITTEN
Call for space availability.
PLACING YOUR DOG
We take in dogs and puppies anytime. Just call us for space and we are very willing to help you. If you have a breed that other rescue groups take we may pass you to them. Since there is such a huge range of breeds and sized please call for available space. We will try to help in any way that we can. We also ask that if they have current vaccinations or have been neutered that we get copies of the paper work. But don't worry, if they are not done we will still take them in. We do not ask for a donation for dogs that are under 25 pounds. If they are bigger we will cross that bridge when we get there. Again, it is a very small price to pay for a guarantee of saving a life. The local shelters will ask for a $40 drop off fee and your pet could be put to sleep.
"BIG THANKS!
We would also like to say, "THANKS" to our wonderful
vets Dr. Garrett & Dr. Roder.
