IB & Skittles are victims of the recent mortage issues. Their family was losing their home and did not know what to do with two ferrets on monthly Lupron shots. So they came to live with us. They will both be starting on Melatonin this month. IB is short for I Bite, but she has been pretty good since she got here. Skittle is more active and likes to play with the other ferrets in her play group.
Pubah & T - Puban is a 4 year old roan male and T is a DEW. Pubah is on Pred and has IB. It has stopped the weight loss and is helping a little with his bowels. T is called "Trouble" by his foster dad and he lives up to that name. He is not terminal, but his cage mate is.
Ricki is a 4 year old dark sable female who has had biting issues in the past and is getting better. My wish for Ricki is that she find a home of her own that will love her and treat her right! She needs a family of her own.
Crackers is a large sable male who loves N Bones! He lives with Eclipse and His Foster Mom Nykol. He had a stroke earlier this month and his Mom nursed him back to health! What a great Mom!
Eclipse is a sweet 2 year old ferret that has terminal cancer. He does not have a lot of energy any more, but he still loves life, his age mate Crackers and his Foster Mom Nykol. Lets make this his best Christmas ever!
Birdie is a eight year old dark sable female who is adrenal. She is in Foster Care, loves her Foster Mom and her brothers and sisters. Birdie loves totally ferret treats in the purple bag, an occasional N Bone and her Fav. Food is Totally Ferret. Birdie was surrendered to the shelter by her Mom's sister. Her Mom had cancer and did not have much time left. Birdie has adjusted well over the last year and earlier this year she went into a foster home.
SPONSORSHIP
We have a few ferrets in need of sponsorship. To sponsor a ferret, just contact the shelter at 435-258-2308 or theferretcubby@msn.com. Ask us about the ferrets that need sponsors and chose one! Tell us how you would like to sponsor, one time, monthly, etc and how much you want to sponsor with and we will get it all set up. We will send you an update on the ferret you sponsor and a photo if you like! Sponsorship allows the shelter to give the best quality of life to the ferrets in need, while still being able to help other ferrets who need an intrem home here at the shelter. This is a great way to help for someone who is not able to have a pet! You can have a picture of your sponsor ferret and you get to know you are helping a sweet ferret to have a better life.
Surrendering a Ferret
I suggest you do a reference check on any shelter you are thinking of taking your ferret to. To do that go on line to www.supportourshelters.org. They have a list of shelters who are a part of their orginization. You can also go to www. ferrret.org for the American Ferret Association and see if the shelter you are considering is on their list. They are a national association for ferrets and most shelters apply to be on their list. If you do not see the shelter you are looking for on their list you can email them and ask if they have any information about that shelter.
To Surrender a ferret, contact the shelter at 435-258-2308.
You can bring the ferret to the shelter, we can meet you half way or you can call for a pick up. Your friend will be well taken care of and we will work hard to find them a "Forever Home". If you have any questions, Please feel free to contact us anytime. Don't let anyone put your ferret down for lack of Help, WE CAN HELP!!!

Ferret Supply List
These are things you should have on hand before you adopt a ferret.
Cage - minimum size for 1 ferrets with, lots of out of cage time, 3'x2'x3', with at least two levels. Lots of out of cage time, at least 3-6 hours a day, if you can’t do that, buy a bigger cage. They need at the very least 2 hours a day out of cage. 2 Hammocks, 1-2 sleep sacks, 1-2 blankets, 2 litter boxes, one in cage, one out of cage. Litter, preferably wood pellets. Ferret Food, not cat or dog food (you can buy my food mix, if you want) I use Totally Ferret, Shepherd & Greene, Zupreem, 8 and 1 Ultimate and Totally Ferret Kit. Any of these are good foods, but I do recommend that you mix at least two types of food. 2- ferret dishes that attach to side of cage, one water, one food. They are famous for dumping bowls that do not attach to cage. 1 – Water bottle (optional) Ferretone, Ferretlax or Laxatone, Nutra Cal, Nail clippers, Ear cleaning solution and q-tips, Toys: - No rubber, plastic or items that can be chewed up. They love bennie babies, paper bags, cat teasers, small stuffed animals, tunnel tubes or dryer ducting tubing, balls, cardboard boxes, etc. Be creative! They will even play with a crumpled up piece of paper!
PICTURES OF THE SHELTER & FUR KIDS!
The Ferret's get approx. 6 hours of out of cage "play/rest" time each day, depending on how many groups of ferrets we have at the time. We are running four play groups at this time, but 6 hours is the minimum play time. Our play groups range in size from 1 ferret to 12 ferrets per group.
