Our Featured Pet...

Our featured pet is our Border Collie Mix, China. China was taken to Arlington Highlands PetSmart Grooming where her owner gave a fake name and phone number.  We took her so she wouldn't have to go to the Arlington Shelter.  She is a Border Collie/Sheppard mix.  Border Collie's are working dogs.  She would do best in an active family.  She is very eager to please.  She has been working with Matt Markum from Working Dogs of Tejas on her obedience training.  Matt donates his time to Kool Kats & Kanines.  China has learned sit, down and can heal on your left side.  She learns more and more every week.  If you are interested in adopting China, please contact us at koolkatskanines@yahoo.com.

Adopting A Friend

Our adoption starts with an application, which is then reviewed by our Board. We are all about making good matches rather than high turn over. Once you are approved, we make an appointment with you to deliever the pet to your home, which helps with the transition. Our adoption fee covers, at a minimum, a fecal exam, a heartworm test for dogs, a combo FIV/FIP test for cats, age appropriate shots, a spay or neuter, a vet exam, flea and tick prevenative, heartworm prevenative and a teeth cleaning in older pets. Many of our animals are microchipped. Our adoption fees are $200 for mixed breed dogs and $125 for cats. Purebreed dog adoption fees are determined by the Board of Directors.
