Adopting a friend

Take me home!!!

If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs on this page, please fill out an adoption application at www.russellrescue.com! . Thank you for considering a Jack Russell Terrier rescue dog as your new pet. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs on this page, please fill out an adoption application at www.russellrescue.com. We hope you have researched the breed. (www.terrier.com/The Bad Dog Talk .) JRT’s are not the dog for everyone. Typically, they do not get along with very small kids, critters such as birds, hamsters, ferrets, cats or other dogs of their same sex. They are frisky, energetic, demanding, engaging, affectionate, funny, loving, entertaining and sometimes exasperating little dogs. Our favorite saying is "Many people underestimate life with a Jack". The adoption fee for our JRT’s is $175.00. All Jacks are spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations and on a heartworm preventative. Each and every adopter must sign a contract agreeing that they will provide good care for the dog and that, if there is a problem, they will return the Jack to Russell Rescue, Inc. We are a RESCUE organization and not a shelter; meaning we do not maintain a facility/shelter which is open to the public. All our dogs are kept in foster homes in all areas of Texas. Our adoption process is started with an online application. After we get the application, we will contact you. We want to know a little bit about you before we will consider adopting out one of our Jacks to you. If you reside near the dog you wish to adopt it, a home visit can be arranged. If you live outside the area [of the dog‘s residence) the rescue agent will get together with you and plan on a time to meet somewhere in-between. When the adoption is finalized, you will sign the adoption contract, which is binding, and give the foster agent a check, cash or money order for $175.00. We also accept PayPal. During the first few weeks after the adoption, the foster agent will stay in touch with you to be sure everything is going well, and answer any questions or address any issues you or your new JRT may have. If you feel that this particular JRT is not a good fit, we make arrangements to take him/her back. We love our rescue dogs and will remain their safety net all their lives. Thank you, Russell Rescue, Inc. Texas Chapter
