Who We Are
The city of Pasadena Animal Assistance Division receives around 12,500 unwanted dogs and cats each year. Sadly, 10,000 of theses animals are euthanized yearly due to the growing pet population.
In order to help these wonderful unwanted animals, the Pasadena Pet Adoption program was established. The program's main goal is to place unwanted animals (mainly from the general population of Pasadena Animal rescue and Assistance Shelter) into caring and loving homes instead of euthanizing. When the animal is selected for the Pet Adoption program, it is given a physical examination preformed by a local veterinarian. The animal is then given its annual vaccination and finally spayed or neutered before being available for adoption.
The Pasadena Pet Adoption animals can viewed at the Pasadena Animal Rescue Shelter located at 5150 Burke Rd. during normal business hours (weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Except on Wednesdays when the hours are extended to 5:45 p.m.) The Rescue Shelter is also open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Pet Adoption counselor Wanda McFarland is at the Shelter on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. unless appointments are made. Our Animals can also be adopted on Saturday at PetSmart on Fairmont Parkway in Pasadena from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Pasadena Pet Adoption depends on volunteers and donations for the everyday needs of our animals. If you are interested in helping us or in adopting an animal please contact Wanda McFarland at 281 -998-7387(PETS).
