News

If you are a proud bunny parent and want to learn more about house rabbits, attend Bunny's Day Out events or get to know other rabbit owners, please join Bunny Buddies. An individual membership is just $20 annually ($30 for a family membership). These funds are used to create educational materials and to spay/ neuter and provide other veterinary care for our foster rabbits.

Who We Are

We are a foster network and education organization dedicated to helping people understand the wonders and joys of living with a house rabbit. We work with the Citizens for Animal Protection shelter in Houston to help place rabbits. We also have several foster homes for rabbits- however all of our foster homes are currently full. Bunny Buddies is in urgent need of volunteers and foster homes for our rabbits. We can provide some assistance with supplies and cages if you agree to join our fosterer program and cannot afford them.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption fee is a very reasonable $40 ($60 to adopt and already-bonded pair); this fee is comparable to what many stores sell rabbits for, with one important difference. A rabbit you adopt through Bunny Buddies is already spayed or neutered at that price. A rabbit you buy at a pet or feed store will need to be spayed or neutered because without it that cute baby bunny will grow into a hormone crazed teenager- which causes many owners to give up on their new pet and take it to a shelter. It costs up to $250 to spay or neuter a rabbit. Our rabbits are already litter trained or are well on their way. You will also have the help and support of Bunny Buddies to answer the many questions you are sure to have. With a little preparation we can you help you have a wonderful life with your house rabbit.
