I have sad news here at Halteman's Haven . Shirlee Smith , a huge force behind Haltemans' Haven has passed away . She did our newsletter and could always be seen at Mystic Mutts and Moonpies. She had a gift of prose, a smile that was big as Texas, and she was like a sister to me. I will miss her beyond words. I have taken in her cats and dog and will try to find them loving homes. It was a promise I made to her..I kept that Promise .................... Godspeed Shirlee..You are loved and remembered.................. |

Missy was run over by her own former owner who left her to suffer for 2 days before bringing her to VCA Animal Hospital to be euthanized.
Our medical staff informed the owner that she could be taken care of and that she would heal to be an active little dog as she was once before, but his statement back to us was... “It will just happen again, she is too stupid to get out of the way.”
After much pleading, he signed her over to Halteman’s Haven for care. In a matter of minutes we had her on pain medication and began the x-ray’ s need to begin her care. We are asking for donations of any kind, to help this little lady. She deserves a chance with another family and will make someone a wonderful pet.

Who We Are
Halteman's Haven is a non-profit rescue organization dedicated to cats in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We are an all volunteer staff who collaborated to raise awareness of homeless cats and kittens. We place great emphasis on the significance of Spay & Neuter and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
Adopting A Friend
We do not have a shelter. All of our animals reside in foster homes.
Our adoption process enables us to ensure that you and your pet will both be lifelong companions. An adoption application will be provided prior to adoption of an animal.
