Who We Are

The Humane Society of Aransas County was founded in 1988 and we are a 501(C)3 non profit organization relying solely on donations from the community. We are now located on three acres of land (generously donated) on Myrtle Street in Fulton, Texas. Our shelter is a no-kill facility and is, consequently, ALWAYS at full capacity. Our animals always recieve the best of medical attention and in home care until they are adopted. We house approximately 80 dogs and 100 cats. Unlike many other shelters, our dogs are not totally confined in cages. They all have play areas. Out cattery allows cats to remain inside or go out in a screened area. We are striving to make Aransas County a NO-KILL county and we are trying to accomplish this by implementing an aggressive spay/neuter program. We not only offer low cost spay/neuter to the community, but we also sterilize every animal leaving the Aransas County Animal Control Facility. In the interest of all animal welfare, we take care of any sick or injured animal picked up by Aransas County Animal Control. Our endeavors are very costly and we are always in great need of donations and volunteers. If you are interested in saving the animals, please call or come by to see us. We are open 6 days a week.

Adopting a friend

Our fees for dogs are $65.00. This includes spay/neuter heartworm check and treatment if necessary, wormer and dhlp. Our fees for cats are $45.00. This includes spay/neuter, and vaccines.

Let us help you!

In our Low-cost spay/neuter program we offer vouchers at a reduced cost . For a dog spay the cost is $40 and up. For a dog neuter the cost is $35 and up. For a cat spay the cost is $35. For the cat neuter the cost is $20.

Donations! Donations! Donations!

Because we are a non-profit organization we are in need of donations. We need monetary donations for our spay/neuter program as well as for the medical costs of the injured, and operating costs. We also need wet cat food, dry cat food, kitty litter, swimming pools, aluminum cans for recycling, kennels, crates, fencing, blankets for bedding, metal water dishes, toys, bleach, laundry soap, dish detergent, OdoBan, garbage bags, old newspaper, mops, brooms, dust pans, pooper scoopers, liter scoops, kitty trees, etc.

Volunteers greatly needed!!

Our animals receive the utmost affection by our animal friendly staff and volunteers. But we still need volunteers to assist us in our efort to provide a happy lovable place for these wonderful pets, dog walkers, and anyone interested in playing with the cats or dogs. We also participate with the people needing to utilize the community service program. Minimum age requirements are under 15 years old you need to have an adult present. If you are 15 and over you need to be ready, willing and able to assist in our efforts.
