Lone Star Beagle Resuce is over flowing with Beagles! Therefore we have many many beagles available for adoption to choose from. Unfortunately we can not take in any more new beagles because there is no place to put them. Period. We cannot give anyone special treatment or make exceptions. We are very sorry if this offends or dissapoints anybody. We are even more sorry that this leaves many beagles with no place to go but the animal shelter. The simple fact is there are way too many beagles in need and not enough people who need beagles.
If you own or have found a beagle that needs a home and you have a way to care for it and and it is spayed/neutered and is up to date on vacinations and is tested negative for heartworm.... then we may be able to help. Please refer to our website pages for :
Below is our laundry list of "do nots" if you still think we have places to put a beagle or if you think we might make an exeception to our neuter/vacination policy of owned or found beagles:
* Please do NOT ask us if we have space to foster a dog.
* Please do NOT ask us to find "urgent" placement for your beagle.
* Please do NOT ask us if we can take your beagle if you cant find a home by such and such date.
* Please do NOT ask us to find a home for an intact and/or unvacinated beagle. (even if it's a puppy)
* Please do NOT ask us if we know somebody "looking for a beagle puppy" to adopt . (see above)
. . . . . . If you send any email asking us to do so, it will NOT be answered. We are very sorry if this comes across as rude and unpleasant. But there is nothing pleasant about animal overpopulation. Thank you for understanding.
This policy will continue until we recieve more offers to volunteer We will only consider an offer to volunteer if you can provide a committed foster home when a beagle is in need. We regret to say that the founder and director of New Mexico Beagle Rescue has passed away. Trish Skowronek crossed the bridge sometime Valentines day. We will miss her very much.
* * * UPDATE: NMBR is now functioning with the help of volunteers in New Mexico, Texas and supporters from other states. Thier sister organization, "Lone Star Beagle Rescue" out of West Texas will be handling administration for the time being.
