Who We Are

Friends of BARC is a non-profit corporation that supports the humane care and treatment of the animals in the City of Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC). Our volunteers staff off site adoption programs at six area Petsmart stores every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

We provide nutritious food for the kittens, puppies, cats and dogs in the City's adoption program. We also fund spay/neuter surgeries, as well as the purchase of medications, test kits and other veterinary supplies, as needed.

To help address the ongoing problem of pet overpopulation, Friends of BARC aslo educates the community about the importance of spaying and neutering and supports spay and neuter programs.

Friends of BARC is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we will be happy to send you a written receipt for tax purposes.
