CURRENT EVENTS

More than 300 dogs and puppies came thru "Arfns. Inc in 2008. They all found wonderful homes with loving people that treat them the way they deserve. I want to thank you all. I continue to be blessed with wonderful dogs and puppies that need forever homes, so visit the website often to see our little "arfns".

IN MEMORY OF SIDEKICK

Sidekick is the beloved and greatly missed companion of Glen and Sherron Hadlock of Arizona. They saw a little white dog on my site and for over a month they patiently waited while she recovered from a variety of problems. They came to Texas for the holidays and were finally able to meet Delilah and take her home with them. They gave a generous donation in memory of little Sidekick. Sidekick lived to be 19 years old! Thank you Gene and Sherron for loving little orphan (arfn) dogs and for helping me pay for treatment for the ones yet to get into rescue.

IT WOULDN'T BE HEAVEN

I got to the gate of heaven today, after we said goodbye.
I began to miss you terribly, because I heard you cry.
Suddenly there was an angel, and she asked me to enter Heaven's gate.
I asked her if I could stay outside for someone who would be late.
I wouldn't make much noise you see, I wouldn't bark or howl.
I'll only wait here patiently and play with my tennis ball.

The angel said I could stay right here and wait for you to come.
Because Heaven just wouldn't be Heaven if I went in alone.
So I'll wait right here, you take your time, but keep me in your heart.
Because Heaven just wouldn't be Heaven without you to warm my heart.

ABOUT US

I started my rescue in Dallas and have been able to enlarge my kennels and house more dogs since we moved back to the ranch in Central Texas. There are many unwanted and neglected dogs in this rural area.

In addition to small dogs we also take orphan puppies and nursing or pregnant mothers where many won't . So much time is involved and with babies comes the increased risk of the diseases puppies are susceptible to. The increased time and energy involved in the care of these small creatures is worth it for me. I occasionally experience the heartache of losing one, but most go on to have happy, healthy lives and give joy and love to those who adopt them.

My rescue is based out of our home and on our ranch. I am not a shelter and do not have an "open door" policy. When I answer the phone it will not reflect the name of my rescue. It is our home phone.

I seldom allow visitors to my kennels because I often have many puppies in my rescue. The puppies have had only limited vaccinations for the diseases that kill them. It is so easy to unknowingly bring in Parvo. I don't subject their already compromised immune systems to the added risk of people coming and going from "their home".

I feature dogs from several nearby towns that are in animal control shelters awaiting euthanasia. I am closely associated with the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center in Brownwood, Texas also. We network with many rescue organizations and "no kill" shelters to place dogs, as well as help adopt our dogs.

My adoption fee is $150. They are spayed/neutered, rabies, annual boosters before being adopted. The fee goes directly into my medical fund to treat sick or injured dogs and puppies that come thru my rescue.

HELPFUL INFO

Please do not take your puppy outside, to Petco, Petsmart, walks around the neighborhood, or around other animals who have access to these places until the 3rd booster shot is given by your vet!!!. Parvo & Distemper kill puppies. Your puppy should remain IN YOUR HOME until then, no where else.

MINE, MINE, MINE

• If it’s in my mouth, it’s mine
• If I like it, it’s mine
• If I can take it from you, it’s mine
• If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine
• If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
• If I’m chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
• If it looks like mine, it’s mine
• If I saw it first, it’s mine
• If you are playing with something and put it down, it’s mine
• If it is in the same house as me, it’s mine.
• If it is broken, it’s yours
