News
The City of Burleson is located at 1695 John Jones Drive. We
are very proud of this facility, which can humanely shelter
approximately 60 animals. Contact us at 817-447-5426 for more
information.
Who We Are
We are the City of Burleson Animal Shelter! In addition to providing
the citizens of Burleson professional and efficient animal care and
control services, we offer a progressive adoption program in order to
provide a second chance at life for many of the stray and homeless pets
we receive.
Adopting a friend
Come visit our clean and spacious facility, take your time during our
extended hours of service. Visit with the animals and with an adoption
counselor, who will walk with you as you meet your new family friend.
We ask that you complete an adoption application, which will help us
find the perfect match for you as you search for a new animal
companion. A legal contract is required by state law, helping us ensure
that all pets adopted from the shelter are properly sterilized by a
licensed veterinarian. Above all, come visit! Meet the animals! Your
new forever friend is waiting!
Come Visit Us!
Our hours of operation are 11 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday, and 11
am to 4 pm Saturday, allowing you ample time to stop in and visit as
often as you'd like. Treats for the animals are encouraged, and there
are several outdoor play yards for visiting with adoptable dogs. Simply
ask a staff member for assistance, grab a toy available at the shelter,
and come play! A clean, quiet indoor area is also available for meeting
our many wonderful cats and kittens or our smaller dogs.
Directions to the Shelter
Take Interstate 35W to the 174/Wilshire Boulevard exit. Approximately 3
miles south on Wilshire you'll find FM 731, also known as John Jones
Drive. Turn left, travel 1.1 miles, and you will see the shelter on the
left. Or, call us and we'll be happy to help get you here!
Donations Needed!
The Burleson Animal Shelter needs donations of the following to help
care for the animals:
Towels, blankets, canned food (dog and cat) toys, bleach, and cat litter
