We are a NO KILL equine rescue who takes in abused, starved, neglected, old, injured, sick and unwanted equine (horses, ponies, donkeys and mules). We were formed in 2001 . we are not funded by any goverment agency to do this work, nor are we paid to do this. We do this from our own pockets because of our passion to care about less fortunate equine.
WHAT WE DO
We work with local and national law enforcement and other respectable horse rescues, , in the upholding of the law concering animal abuse and neglect . We assist in seizures and testify in court. Our aim is to educate the public on the needs and welfare of equines to help stop abuse and neglect. We will fight to stop all forms of abuse, we also strongly support to stop horse slaughter in this country..........
COME MEET US!
We welcome personal visits from the general public as well as schools and day cares. If you are bringing a group, please contact us first to set up an appointment. Our horses love to have visitors. BE WARNED .... some of our horses have suffered abuse before they came to us, a starved or injured horse is not pleasant to view, some people find this very upsetting..............
HOW TO ADOPT FROM US
We require that all our equine go to loving caring homes, so for their safe keeping, we do back ground checks on anyone applying to adopt from us. If you have any form of abuse (either animal or human in your background) please do not apply for one of our equine. We require you submit an application, along with vet, farrier and personal references. A inspection of where the equine will be living is also carried out. (We never allow an equine to be placed in a home with barbed wire, its a killer). We also require a (2) two year adoption contract to be signed.
VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to help with the every day running of a rescue. We need people willing to work. We have many young horses in, who need more human interaction. We have already broke horses who need to be exercised. We need people experienced in abused equine. We need people with building skills, to help build, repair and maintain our building's and fences. And we always need folks willing to scoop poop!
DONATIONS NEEDED.. We are always pleased to accept donations of good quality hay and grain. Shavings. Vaccinations (must be kept in fridge) wormer, halters, tack of all kinds. Money donations can be sent direct to our vet or farrier (email us for their info).
WISH LIST..... 2 horse bumper pull horse trailer. Metal hay rings (round). Wood and metal for building and repairing. Concrete. Grass seed. Sand and top soil. Some one to mow our pastures.
