Who We Are

Taylor Animal Control makes every effort to place the animals into loving homes with responsible people who are willing to make a lifelong commitment to the pet. Potential adopters are counseled about the responsibilities of pet ownership before adoption. The key to reducing the number of unwanted animals is population control and education; each adopted animal must be spayed or neutered.

Adopting a friend

Please call (512) 352-5483 before coming to the shelter since we do spend time out in the community. We will return all phone calls in response to adoption of our animals within 24 hours.

We do not do out of state adoptions and adoptions are on a first come/first serve basis as long as the applicant is an approved match for the pet. Adoption fee is $80 for all pets. $80 fee covers alteration of the animal, rabies vac, nail trim and city registration tag if they live within city limits.

Taylor Animal Control needs your help caring for animals that need a home. We need the following ...

Dog items
• dog food, dry and canned
• puppy food, dry and canned
• compressed rawhide bones (any size bigger than 4")
• pig ears
• chew hoofs
• dogs treats
• dog bowls (prefer stainless steel)
• dog beds
• leashes
• collars

Cat items
• cat food, dry and canned
• kitten food, dry and canned
• cat litter
• newspapers
• cat beds
• litter boxes
• toys
• bowls
• collars
• catnip
• treats
• cardboard cat carriers (to send cats home in when they get adopted)

Other animal care items:
• veterinary services and supplies
• small and medium crates
• blankets
• towels
• small trough (5 gallon or so for water in the play yard)

Other supplies:
• pooper scooper
• trash bags
• cleaning supplies
• office supplies
• garden hoses, nozzles and sprayers
• bike locks
• cordless phone (with answering machine preferred)
• spray bottles for cleaners
• AA, AAA and D batteries (rechargeable preferred)
• deck brushes
• sponges
• dishwasher
• broom, dust pan
• shelving
• mop heads
• paper towels

We would also appreciate new or gently used dog houses to use in the play yard.

Any and all donations (including monetary) will be greatly appreciated and will help provide the best possible care for the animals.

Come Visit Us!

Take I-35 to Highway 79 (exit #253)
Take Highway 79 into Taylor (approximately 18 miles)
Turn left onto Highway 95 - 2nd light once you get into Taylor
Turn right onto 4th street - 2nd light
Go under railroad bridge
Turn left just past the bridge into the West Yard/Animal Control
Drive to the back of the parking lot - we're in the last building
