Who We Are
Schertz Animal Shelter is a city based adoption facility. We have 18 dog adoption kennels, 22 dog holding kennels, and 4 dog quarantine kennels. We also have 9 cat adoption kennels, 11 cat holding kennels, and 2 cat quarantine kennels. We have wonderful relationships with several Rescue Groups and Organizations in our area that strongly support providing forever homes for our pets. We have 6 full time employees, and are open 7 days a week. We gladly accept donations and volunteers.
Adopting a Friend
Adoption prices include 5-way vaccination, Bordetella(for dogs), Rabies, Vet check, Fecal Exam, Heartworm test(for dogs over 6 months), Microchip, Tags, Spay/Neuter and Adoption kit. Prices are as follows:

Microchip your Pet
If you are interested in having your cat or dog microchipped just bring them by. Our microchip fee is only $10 and only takes a few minutes to do.
Volunteering and Donations
We gladly except Donations and Volunteers. **Our volunteer orientation is held the fourth Saturday of every month at 12:30. You must be 16 years of age to volunteer, or have an adult willing to volunteer with you.**

Schertz Animal Shelter is located on FM 3009. To visit the Shelter drive I35 (just North of San Antonio),Exit #175 FM 3009/Garden Ridge, travel east on FM 3009. Turn north onto Borgfeld Rd. We are 1/4 mile on the east side. Our address is 1298 Borgfeld Rd.
