Adopt-A-Pet does not euthanize animals to make room for others. Most of our animals are rescued from the Victoria City/County Animal Shelter. Some animals come from individuals when kennel space is available. We also help individuals with our lost and found program for pets.
All of our pets pass a strict health check including vaccinations, deworming, microchiping, spaying and neutering. All dogs are tested for heartworms and are started on heartworm preventative. Cats are also tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS and are given vaccinations to prevent leukemia.
Spay/neuter fees vary by gender and size of animal. Spay/neuter services must be scheduled in advance. We also have a well pet clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and the second Saturday of each month between 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We can give vaccinations, do a pet examination, and sell flea and heartworm prevention products. Please call for current pricing for spay/neuter and well clinic services.
Our adoption fee for dogs/puppies is $100.00. This fee covers medical expenses for the first year:
All adopters must go through a short interview process before being allowed to take home a new pet. We are not a pet shop; we are an adoption agency. We want our pets to remain in their new homes for the rest of their lives. We will do our best to help you find the right pet for your family and your household living situation. Please be aware that you must be willing and able to come to our shelter in Victoria, Texas to complete an adoption. We are not able to ship animals at this time. We do reserve the right to refuse service.
Adopt-A-Pet is funded through donations from the community. Your donations help to save lives through paying for veterinary costs, feeding programs, and animal care. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
